Propecia may cause erectile dysfunction

Personal injury lawyer Hansen Dirani reminds men who are contemplating medication for hair loss that Propecia, a drug used to treat male pattern baldness, may have serious adverse side effects, including sexual dysfunction. Another side effect of Propecia is an increased risk of high-grade prostate cancer, according to the Federal Drug Administration. Propecia also is known as finasteride and Proscar. Men using the hair loss medication should discuss prostate cancer risks with their health provider, according to the FDA.

Dirani, a Tulsa, OK, drug injury lawyer, said attorneys are examining reports about Propecia sexual dysfunction side effects—such as decreased libido and erectile dysfunction, as well as other Propecia side effects like anxiety, depression and insomnia. He said the list of finasteride dangers for men has been increasing over the last few years.

Dirani, a Tulsa, Oklahoma, Propecia lawyer, said the increase of finasteride health problems should be taken seriously by every man taking Propecia.
"It begs the question whether resolving a receding hairline, bald spot or male pattern baldness is worth the risks of finasteride," said Dirani. "Propecia prostrate cancer, finasteride erection problems and Proscar anxiety are very serious health conditions, so any man prescribed Propecia needs to weigh the benefits and risks of dangerous drug prescriptions."

Because baldness is not a male health problem but only a cosmetic concern, trying to grow hair back while risking Propecia permanent sexual dysfunction or finasteride anxiety problems is a serious step to take, and male pattern baldness patients should consider all the risks, Dirani said.
